The Story
Colectivo Coffee — formerly known as Alterra Coffee Roasters — has been roasting in Milwaukee since 1993, making it one of the city's most storied independent coffee brands. The Bay View location is extra special: it was purpose-built in 2012 to house the Troubadour Bakery operation, so you can actually watch bakers at work through a window while you sip. The building leans into Bay View's creative, neighborhood-first vibe with an upstairs loft, a sun-filled main floor, and a patio with sheltered vertical bike parking — very KK Ave.
