Junior's Smoked carries vegan items alongside its BBQ menu. Milwaukee Microgreens sells fresh microgreens and grow kits — inherently vegan. Pao Gardens offers a wide array of fresh vegetables, herbs, and fruits. Alsum Sweet Corn and other produce vendors round out solid whole-food vegan options. Oly's Oats granola and cooking oats are worth checking for vegan status directly with the vendor.
The Story
South Shore Farmers' Market has been a Bay View institution for 28 seasons, born out of the Friends of South Shore Park with a dual mission: preserve community green space and connect city residents to regional agriculture. Set right along Lake Michigan in South Shore Park, it draws roughly 3,750 visitors every Saturday morning — fueled by live music, lake breezes, and over 50 regional vendors. It's as much a neighborhood social ritual as it is a grocery run.
